Horizon Europe

Horizon Europe is the European Commission's research and innovation program until 2027.

As in Horizon 2020, HE obliges all beneficiaries to ensure open access to scientific information (publications and data) and adhere to other open science principles.

Main goals of Open Science policy:

 

  • ensure that beneficiaries retain the intellectual property rights they need to fulfil their open access obligations
  • require that research data meet FAIR parameters by default and be open (with exceptions, especially for commercial purposes)
  • to support the implementation of Open Science practices, from the earliest and widest possible sharing of research outputs to science for citizens and the development of new indicators for research evaluation and researcher
  • remuneration involve and involve citizens, organizations and end-users in joint design and co-creation processes, support responsible research and innovation
  • next stage of European Open Science Cloud (EOSC)
  • development of the Open Research Europe (ORE) open access publishing platform
