Open (FAIR) Data
Accompanying data to the publication - data needed to validate the results in the scientific publication and related metadata
Data Management Plan – the data management plan or DMP is a formal document that outlines how data are to be handled both during a research project, and after the project is completed
Data Management Planning – the process of planning, describing and informing about the life cycle of data and activities related to their management during research
DOI (Digital Object Identifier) – the digital identifier of the object. Alfanumerical a string used to uniquely identifyj digital object
FAIR Data – the abbreviation of the initial letters of the four main principles of FAIR Data: Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable. FAIR data should be traceable to anyone, in standard formats with appropriate metadata and identifiers to make it reusable and traceable, but access to the data itself may be subject to certain conditions (e.g. signing a contract and complying with restrictive contract conditions) and their use is limited by licenses setting out the rules for handling data.
Metadata – data that provide information about other data
Open Data – open access to research data includes the ability to freely use, modify and share the data for anyone for any purpose
ORCID (Open Research and Contributor ID) - an alphanumeric code that uniquely identifies scientific and other academic authors
Research data - data in digital form originating from research projects (from experiments, surveys and measurements, including so-called metadata and details on data processing)
Separate research sets - other data and related metadata that are associated with the research project (and are listed in the so-called Data Management Plan)
