Research Data

Research Data at Masaryk University

Research data form the foundation of every scientific publication, and sharing them is a key step toward open and verifiable science.

At Masaryk University, we follow the principle “as open as possible, as closed as necessary”: data should be open whenever possible and protected when necessary. We also adhere to FAIR principles, ensuring that data are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.

Data Management Plan
We recommend a Data Management Plan (DMP) for every research project to organize data collection, storage, and sharing systematically.

Data steward community
Our community of data stewards supports researchers by helping to prepare DMPs, choose appropriate repositories, and make data accessible for verification and further use. Detailed information about the data steward community in the Czech Republic can be found here.
